Altor Security
The 1st Purpose-Built Virtual Firewall Gets
Better
Altor secures virtualized data centers with two purpose-built,
patent pending technologies integrated into one virtual appliance.
The Altor VF solution combines the first VMsafe stateful firewall
with state-of-the-art virtual aware IDS to mitigate the greatest
threats to virtualized applications and data.

Altor security:
- Eliminates "blind spots" in the enterprise network caused by
poor visibility into communication between virtualization host
servers and between VMs
- Stops malware outbreaks in the virtual environment that are
hard to detect and even harder to contain
- Defeats attacks on the hypervisor
- Prevents mixing higher trust workloads with lower trust
workloads on a single host server, potentially resulting in
privilege escalation
- Enables successful compliance audits by providing the ability
to monitor, report on, and filter virtual network traffic
effectively
Altor VF is built with truly enterprise-class technologies that
have set new standards that no other solution can match:
- High Performance: uses new VMsafe FastPath technology to
achieve over 10 times the throughput of last generation
products
- High Availability: enables deployment of virtualization
security in environments that require the highest level of
reliability from all critical components of the IT
infrastructure
- High Scalability: secures the service provider or enterprise
internal cloud via automated agent provisioning, complete isolation
of customer workloads, Cisco 1000V distributed vSwitch support, and
distributed logging and flow reporting
Altor Center
Your Window to Visibility and Control
The Altor Networks' Altor Center is the user
interface to the Altor VF virtual firewall. It provides visibility
and control of the traffic and protocols flowing into, out of, and
between VMs in the virtual environment.
Main Page
The main page of the Altor Center (click to enlarge) looks
similar to VMware's VirtualCenter, but provides visibility within
the virtual environment. Down the left you see a Window's
Explorer-like view of your virtual environment - similar to what
you would see in VirtualCenter. To the right, you see the "Altor
Status" box which gives you quick access to the number of VMs being
monitored and controlled. Below that is the "Security" box which
can immediately tell you when security threats are occurring. To
the right of that is the "System Status and Events" box which shows
all changes to the monitoring and firewall policies. And below this
is a graph of traffic of the VM or group of VMs selected by the
tree at the far left.
