CEE and FCoE Products
Brocade offers the industry's leading and only end-to-end
CEE/FCoE product offering that includes 10 GbE single- and
dual-port 1010/1020 CNAs, the top-of-rack CEE/FCoE Brocade 8000
Switch, and the end-of-row CEE/FCoE Brocade FCOE10-24 Blade for the
Brocade DCX Backbone family. The Brocade DCFM application provides
unified management of the entire product line.
Brocade CEE/FCoE products provide high-performance cut-through
and non-blocking architecture, allowing organizations to achieve
line-rate performance on both CEE and Fibre Channel ports. In
addition, organizations can seamlessly introduce CEE and FCoE
technologies to their data centers without disrupting existing SANs
or IT management practices.
Brocade offers the industry's most extensive end-to-end
Converged Enhanced Ethernet (CEE)/Fibre Channel over Ethernet
(FCoE) offering. With such a wide array of products, organizations
can choose from top-of-rack and end-of-row solutions. Brocade also
offers the highest-performance single-chip 10 Gigabit Ethernet
(GbE) Converged Network Adapters (CNAs). Brocade CEE/FCoE products
are unified under the Brocade Data Center Fabric Manager (DCFM)
application that also manages existing Brocade SANs.
Brocade 8000 Switch
The Brocade 8000 Switch is a link layer (Layer 2) switch with a
cut-through and non blocking architecture. This multiprotocol
switch supports Ethernet, CEE, Fibre Channel, and FCoE protocols,
providing industry-leading top-of-rack server I/O consolidation
solutions in a compact 1U form factor. The Brocade 8000 features 24
10 Gbps CEE ports and eight 8 Gbps Fibre Channel ports. Using its
built-in FCoE hardware engine, the Brocade 8000 inspects incoming
converged Ethernet and storage traffic, separates it into storage
and networking streams, then directs each stream to its proper
destination. Ethernet, or networking, traffic gets directed to LANs
through the 24 CEE ports, while storage traffic gets switched to
Fibre Channel SANs over the switch's Fibre Channel ports.
The Brocade 8000 provides a top-of-rack solution for deploying
new access layer servers with Tier 3 and some Tier 2
applications.
Brocade FCOE10-24 Blade
The Brocade FCOE10-24 is a CEE/FCoE blade for Brocade DCX and
DCX-4S Backbone platforms. The blade is a link layer (Layer 2)
switch with cut-through and non-blocking architecture that enables
line-rate throughput on all of its 24 10 Gbps CEE ports. The
Brocade FCOE10-24 features a hardware FCoE engine that provides
full T11 FCoE support, utilizing external Fibre Channel ports
available on other Brocade DCX blades.
The Brocade FCOE10-24 provides organizations with end-of-row
solutions for deploying new access layer servers with Tier 3 and
some Tier 2 applications.
Brocade 1010/1020 CNAs
The Brocade 1010 (single port) and Brocade 1020 (dual port)
Converged Network Adapters (CNAs) provide the industry's
best-in-class server connectivity for networking and Fibre Channel
storage I/O consolidation, leveraging Fibre Channel over Ethernet
(FCoE) and Converged Enhanced Ethernet (CEE).
Brocade 1010/1020 CNAs replace traditional Fibre Channel Host
Bus Adapters (HBAs) and Network Interface Cards (NICs) in servers
with one PCIe adapter-thereby increasing ROI and reducing TCO.
Combined with the top-of-rack Brocade 8000 Switch and Brocade Data
Center Fabric Manager (DCFM), these CNAs provide a powerful 10 Gbps
solution that consolidates Fibre Channel and Ethernet traffic
through FCoE. This new technology helps organizations significantly
reduce management, hardware, power, cooling, and maintenance
costs.
Brocade CNAs fully support open industry standards for IEEE Data
Center Bridging (DCB) capabilities, including Priority-based Flow
Control (PFC 802.1Qbb) and Enhanced Transmission selection (ETS
802.1Qaz).
The Brocade 1010/1020 CNAs provide advanced Ethernet
performance, including IPv4 and IPv6 checksum offload, Receive Side
Scaling (RSS), Header Data Split (HDS), jumbo frame support, and
TCP Segmentation Offload (TSO).
Brocade DCFM Application
Brocade Data Center Fabric Manager (DCFM) unifies the various
resources available on Brocade SANs and CEE/FCoE technologies under
one comprehensive management framework. With DCFM, organizations
can continue to use familiar storage management tools and
incorporate CEE/FCoE resources into existing environments
seamlessly and without disruption to their IT practices.
